Pavlik harness (hip orthosis)

Pavlik harness or a hip orthosis are needed for reduction and fixation of a congenital dislocation of the hip joint until it is fully mature.

Pavlik harness is the gentlest on the hip joint and the most comfortable aid for the child and parents. It is used for reduction and fixation in the position of flexion and abduction, ensures gradual abduction of the hips.

Indications for use:

  • Hip dysplasia
  • Pre-dislocation of the femoral head
  • Sub-dislocation of the femoral head
  • Dislocation of the femoral head

Top: natural flannel

Lining: hypoallergenic perforated pedilen or cotton fabric

Fixation on the leg: with Velcro or stitches

Color: pattern of the patient’s choice
