The international “Bionic Forum: Ukraine’s Rehabilitation & Reforms” was held in Odessa
Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov opened the international platform “Bionic Forum: Ukraine’s Rehabilitation & Reforms,” which brought together leading experts from 11 regions of Ukraine and a number of other countries. Over two days, participants discussed government policy, international experience, and modern technologies in the field of military and civilian rehabilitation—from exoskeletons and bionic implants to psychological support and social adaptation.
Odessa is a center for rehabilitation and recovery
“This forum is a launching pad for real action. Because the issue of prosthetics is not only about medicine, but also about integrating people with disabilities into active social life, and thus into Ukraine’s economic future. Odessa has all the prerequisites to become the center of rehabilitation and recovery for the country,” said Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
The city authorities are systematically developing rehabilitation services:
• Modern departments operate in four city hospitals.
• Outpatient care is provided by primary health care centers.
• Hospital No. 10 has a mental health center.
The South Ukrainian Rehabilitation Center is currently being created—a multifunctional space for medical care, education, sports, and social integration, located in the recreational area of Odessa. The modernization of the rehabilitation department of Hospital No. 1 is also underway.
An important element of recovery is the development of adaptive sports.
Recently, the Odessa team proudly represented Ukraine at the Venice Regatta, sailing down the Grand Canal under the Ukrainian and Odessa flags.
The forum in Odessa is intended to become a strategic platform for the development of the national rehabilitation system, the implementation of innovative solutions, and the integration of international experience. Representatives of state institutions, medical and rehabilitation facilities, veterans’ and public organizations, as well as manufacturers of rehabilitation equipment are involved in the event.
Among the participants was our Tellus Prosthetic and Orthopedic Care Center, which presented its own products and developments.
We are proud to be part of such an important initiative and to contribute to the development of a rehabilitation system that will help thousands of Ukrainians return to an active life.
