A cervical spine orthosis or cervical collar (C-collar) is needed to support and unload the cervical spine.

The orthosis is indicated for functional instability of the neck, torticollis, sprains and injuries, rigidity, rheumatoid syndrome, and the consequences of whiplash, as well as for prevention and relief of neck pain.
