An important advantage of a traction prosthetic arm is that it allows you to train the muscles of the forearm.
Such a device is controlled using rods, the forces on which are transmitted owing to the user’s muscle strength. It means that special rods that are fixed on the forearm can be stretched and relaxed under the tension or relaxation of the arm stump muscles.
These rods are connected to the fingers of the prosthesis and the palm itself. Of course, operating such a device requires skills – that is why, after manufacture and fitting of a mechanical prosthesis, a stage of rehabilitation and training follows. During this period, an experienced prosthetist and a rehabilitation specialist work with the patient and teach them how to use the prosthesis in everyday life.
