I am satisfied by who I am now and nothing prevents me from living full life

My name is Daniil. It happened that since my very birth I have a malformation of the lower left extremity. It’s a laughing matter, frankly. But I thank fate that everything happened this way, for who knows what kind of person I would have grown up to be.

From childhood I was brought up with the right character traits. I became hard-working and interested in everything around me, which paid off. I was interested in everything – physics, chemistry, math, history, drawing, learning languages, sports, even writing poems.

Eventually, I started drawing and learning languages, as I have always had an aptitude for these activities, which I think I inherited from my mother. I know Turkish, English and am learning German. History has a special role in my life, as I have drawn inspiration and motivation from historical figures from different periods of time. I still study and love it. I exercise daily.

Now I am 18. When I was about 13 I managed to accept myself (with the help of adults, of course). Before that I felt like I am weaker and a bit lower than others.

Fortunately, I met the very people who support me up to this day, who share my joys and sorrows with me. They are my support, my best comrades. As Odessians should, we treat my peculiarity with humor and such jokes will never die in our company.

Now I’m aiming for a gold medal at graduation. So I’ve got a lot of work to do.

If I were asked if I wanted to change anything in my life, I would say with certainty: “No”. I am happy with who I am now, and nothing prevents me from living my life to the utmost.

P.S. I am grateful to Tellus Prosthetic and Orthotic Center for their products. This was my first prosthesis, but I was very satisfied with my hip prosthesis and plan to come back here again.
