Myoelectric hand prosthesis
A client from Zaporizhzhia reached out to the Tellus Center with a request to install a prosthesis with a microprocessor system and entrusted us with its creation. The most crucial step in fitting a prosthesis is verifying the presence of signals. Only when these signals are detected does the process of fitting the prosthesis begin.
Now, let’s talk about the system and the prosthesis itself… Introducing the prosthesis with a microprocessor control system and a power source by the German company Ottobock (Germany).
The prosthesis combines the mechanical characteristics of the SensorHand Speed sensor and the control options of the DMC VariPlus System Electric Greifer. Thanks to its high grip force (about 100 N) and speed (up to 300 mm/s), objects can be grasped quickly and accurately.
The prosthesis allows for finger gripping and releasing, enabling the user to operate it without excessive compensatory movements of the residual limb or torso.
The control signal is generated by the movement of a specific body segment (residual limb) and transmitted as a force input to the sensor.
The myotonic control system can be installed in prostheses for any length of the residual limb, except for wrist disarticulation residual limbs.
At the Tellus Center, we have only qualified specialists who are the only ones in Ukraine certified by ISPO in prosthetics and orthotics, as well as numerous certifications from Ottobock (Germany).
There are no unsolvable tasks for us. We strive to make our clients’ daily lives as safe and comfortable as possible through our orthopedic products!
