7 minutes of clinical death, reanimation and 5 days of coma
Almost a year before my life divided into Before and After…
I have been catching colds a lot lately and as usual I took an anti-inflammatory and went to bed. A few hours later they called an ambulance. My legs were covered with black spots in a second and I lost consciousness. Then followed 7 minutes of clinical death, resuscitation and 5 days of coma.
Physicians established various diagnoses – Lyell’s syndrome, meningitis… The final diagnosis was Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Necrosis affected my legs up to the knees and almost the entire buttocks, there were black spots all over my body and face. I couldn’t even speak.
A month later in Dnipro I underwent surgery for paired amputation of legs up to the knees and 3 skin grafts on the buttocks.
Later I heard about the Center Tellus and started preparing to prosthetic care. This was both merrily and anxious.
Body did not listen to me; it was painful to move because of unusual stresses on the knees.
But with every single day due to enormous professionalism of the prosthetics specialists, hour trainings with a rehabilitation specialist and endless support from family and friends, I reached extraordinary successes over a such a short time.
Now I have divorced with my husband but I have my dearest son, favorite work and true friends. Thanks to the prosthetic center Tellus for the second chance to a happy life!
